DMW: 城堡风情 Castle Country

Let me start off with thanking you guys for watching the first epi and leaving me lovely notes that reaffirms my nine months has not gone to waste..When i first started off i felt honoured to be asked to do the show and after watching the first epi, i just felt so proud to be a part of it…Nowadays i just go into the dubbing room to do some voice overs for the show, however, my two eps are really hard at work..compiling and editing and fine tuning the final product..kudos to them for their effort ..

The theme of second epi is Castle and with this in mind, we flew to three countries and found three radically different “Castles”…

GREAT BRITAIN: LEEDS CASTLE

With a beautiful story behind every stone, leeds castle stands proud and mesmerizing as the morning fog drifts across the moat, when the morning dew make its way gently down the grass.. this is indeed a royal and splendid sight to behold. The story behind this castle showed me the beauty of life..of people…it displayed to me, in vivid colours, how much history plays a part in modern day and how we should cherish all we could learn from the past..good..or bad.

The determination of folks from this fort to preserve their way of life and history is highly commendable..i envy them for their passion in holding on to believes that are dearest to their heartFor a moment i thought i have stumbled onto a film set, the fact being..i did not.Yester year is the present and modernisation has robbed this fort of its young people and as each traditional garb is discarded when the last soldiers of the fort passes on, one questions… would the day come when all is forgotten and history lost? This got me thinking..are all new inventions and way of life better that what it used to be? should we throw the past away and simply embrace the present? Look ahead and never look back?  i think not.

Rising above the desert, the majestic fort echoes memories of long ago ..it represents the affluence of the past and the will of people to survive.. It taught me what home meant..and how rooted and attached we could be to things , people or religion that we  feel  for.No man is an island..It’s emotions and ties that keeps us alive..and makes us human…

They may be collectively known as castles but are radically different. Likewise, we are collective humans and every individual is different. I learnt not to bemoan about my life as compared to another..and not to judge another by my own standards. For what is right.. or wrong? that all depends on what grounds are you standing upon.Unless we are judging on moral grounds, no decision will ever be right…and neither wrong.

walk with me,

if you think it is right .

In search ,

of a beatiful life.

Great visuals. I can’t wait to enjoy more of your escapades and I’m glad you let us in on the hard work each and everyone of you put in just for the hour long pleasures we get as a viewer. Brilliant job really and many of us really appreciate the months you put in! I enjoyed the first epi immensely, and it served as a reminder of how happiness is indeed just a personal sense of contentment, and not just countable tangible assets. Have a great Sunday, Bryan. =)

    Hi Bryan,

I enjoyed the 1st epi and is so looking forward to the 2nd one. Loved your pictures and words as usual.

    2 questions:

    - Which model and brand of camera are you using? Cos I plan to get a new camera and loved the pictures u took with it.

    - the photos had been edited/photoshopped? Or is this really how it looked off the camera?

I had been looking around for a good camera and is feeling so lost about it.

    Thanks in advance!

Wow! I’m so envious that you get to go to those places! The pictures are awesome! Did you take them yourself? It’s a pity I can’t watch the show here in Japan.

    Hi Bryan.

    Will catch the episode tonight.

By the way, it was really a “shock” to me because in the nominee list of Star Awards 2009 released today, I don’t see your name there at all. Not even “Best Variety Show Host” category.

Omg. Why ah? Although you were not on screen most of the time last year, but there were programmes like “Princesses & The Dude”! *scratches head*

Oh never mind, I think this travel show of yours is great..will definitely be nominated at Star Awards 2010!! :-)

    Continue jiayou!

    Cheers!~

Just finished watching today’s espiode….it was like “wow”, duno wat else to say…it’s not just like any ordinary travel programme but the words that evoke u into really start thinking ….in 21st century yet, there are some people in some parts of the world who are so proud of their own heritage n history n traditions thay they truly kept it alive!

Look forward to the next espiode……

This is truly a fantastic programme worth supporting :)

wa.. it realli IS nicer with your VO!~

Tradition, to keep or not? Quite a difficult Q… i guess it depends on situation and people, but the fact is that it is losing in our modern day society.

Oh btw, SA nominees are out… don haf u… quite upset, but honestly, sort of saw that coming as well… i tink u thought so too?
hope for u getting into top 20 and eventually top 10!~
    Jia You!~
With the additional award – Best Info-ed Programme Host, hope you would be nominated for your efforts in Destination Most Wanted!

    Jia You!~Jia You!~

    Hey Bryan.
I stumbled open your blog while being bored and surfing the net.
Waoh! You looked like you’ve lost quite a fair bit of weight in the short span of a year.
    Really awesome pictures you have.
Although I cant watch Spore TV shows and stuff anymore (cos i’m in australia), I still get to catch a glimpse of it! Something else for me to look at when I miss home….
It was really well taken. Its like capturing every emotion in that split second in the photo.
I’ll be constantly checking out your blog now. Thanks for all the wonderful posts.
    :)

i agree with what kerryho said in the other thread… that there are many places in this world which most of us probably won’t get a chance to visit in our life time, but thanks to this travelogue, u’ve been to all of them! and the experience, the memories and the 13 episodes of programmes are things which will forever belong to only urself and no one can take them away from u. i think this is definitely worth sacrificing any award nominations for!

    Hi Bryan,
i just watched your travel program yesterday for the first time and it is so interesting and i was so fascinated by the India fortress and the people living there. I hope to have the chance to go there in the future to experience their way of living myself. I’m looking forward to watching future episodes and learning more about other places in the world while in the comfort of my own home :> Keep up the good work!

Actually, it’s nt the fun that we want to enjoy but the experience that we get especially some interesting life theories. Keep it up and all the best!!!

    Halo Bryan,

The castle Jaisalmer somehow looks familar, i was wonder if the scene was the same as the VISA advertisement by Richard Gere and the little india girl whom has no money to buy birds???

I like the part where Bryan give his personal thoughts at the end of each place (优游记忆?)… impressive & thoughtful…
