Folks Jump Over The Wall

Tonight is the debut night of Folks Jump Over The Wall!!!

This is a project that i hold very close to my heart. For the past two months, i have been working non stop and almost filming this dramedy everyday. In fact, this project seems to have quite a couple of “First Times” for me.

This is the first time that Kym and I work on a drama

This is the first time that i work on a drama with boku films

and wenhai in a drama

This is the first time that i play the role of a nurse

This is the first time that my co-actors in majority is older than me..

We had so much fun while filming this project. Initially, i wondered if there would be a gap between us ..however, amazingly, we gelled pretty good. They are not as old as they looked and i am not as young as i thought..Our favourite pastime when in between filming would be talking about good old times and taking afternoon naps together, since there are quite a couple of beds hanging around.

I really hope that you guys have a great time watching this show as much as we enjoyed making it.

The team really put in alot of effort and very much dedicated to this project.

On this debut night, some of us are still filming episode ten ..Another 10 days to go before we wrap up the production.

This has been a wonderful adventure….

    Dear Bryan,

Finally we see something different out of your hosting skills. In this project, it is really a funny and fun-loving show. It helps us to relax a bit from our hectic lifestyle.

THANK YOU for bringing us so much laughter.

Do you know you have an unique “sound” of laughter!

didn’t manage to catch the sitcom tonight as was working for an event, but have recorded it on tape so shall watch it when back to office tomorrow!

was really looking forward to it… at least can be sure it would be something quite different from the usual mediacorp stuff. boku films had produced durian king and six weeks for channel i before, so me is expecting a kind of humour which might be “new” to traditional chinese audience. though felt sorry for u that u have to work day in day out, missing many weekends and festive holidays in the past months, but happy for u that u’ve got a chance to work on a project that is out of the “hill” ;p the process might be tedious, but the opportunity is something that does not come by all the time, and the experience would be something u can cherish for a long long time… :)

It is my hubby who reminded me to watch Buddha jumps over the wall! We are your faithful fans of “Bai Jia le”. I love your acting in “Liao Zai” and ” Bao Jia Wei Guo” and “Miao Shuo Ren Xin” Like to see you act in serious way although love to see your humor in hosting programmes.

When I watch Buddha jumps over the wall, the image of you “hosting” the drama is stronger than you “acting” the drama….unlike your acting in the above mentioned drama. Honestly I don’t like it…Kym also, giving me wrong impression in the drama.

Maybe because both of you are famous and good hosters…so if put two of you as main casts in drama, funny funny leh.

So guess what? I just keep staring at your handsome face throughout the drama, and enjoy your humour eg. your “ew!” remarks. As your fan, heee…this is enough, happy to see you almost everyday on TV!!!!

I have a comment, no offense k? maybe just focus on acting and don’t care about the camera….actors don’t really bother about camera unlike hosts…

All the best in your acting career! You have a bright future in this area Bryan!

    Hi Byran

First of all I must say I am those fans of artist.. perhaps due to my job responsibilities that leaves me with little time to be constantly following up TV programs. I remembered other then many years back I was impressed and you left me a great impression after the show Master of the Sea which you acted very well. Thereafter we don’t see you much on acting.

But you hosted many other entertainment programs and you were doing very well…
I am honestly was never a fan of you but as I watched many of your hosting, your confident and professionalism in projecting yourself, I realized they have changed my mind. I wondered why Media Corps do not cast you on some roles (maybe you were English channel actor) which I think given a chance you may do very well.

My favorite is Maggie & Me but I will try to rush home to watch “Bai Jia le” home decor because I liked your creativity and decor concept and also I think is a very good program and should continue. I think even some reno and design company may not come up with such nice concept and ideas.

There were not many interesting shows with the new 80′s Rewind was a total disappointment. Gurmit Singh acted well but then the rest of the actors can’t blend in with Gurmit’s humor…especially the wife (should have Selina Tan, Patricia Mok, Irene or Kim Ng to play the role).

So when I heard of this new Folks Jump Over the Wall and saw the preview and you acting, I was wondering will this be yet another nothing new boring comedy!! Since it was a debut episode, so I decided to tune in to check it up while having my dinner. I indeed enjoyed this comedy show!!!! Well, was surprised it turned up you acted very well and Kim Ng & the rest of the crew blended in very well. Also the whole new concept (the way it was filmed) of this humor and fun laughing show also brings another light of an old folks home that was always left unnoticed and many would not want to know. I think this show change the perception and will make the younger generation to think that actually it can be fun working in an old folks home and also there were many interesting discoveries in these old folks… they are not boring people and can be fun no doubt weird old people. This may also for once created interest in the younger generation to at least start imagining or thinking what an old folks home is like. The whole show makes me felt like …. there are many interesting discoveries in these old folks and it is not that bad taking care of old folks and working in an old folks home!

I must say this will be a new beginning of your acting career. And I am looking forward to seeing more of your shows.. Because now I am now a fan of yours!

Keep up your good work! A Happy New Year 2008 to you and have a great year ahead!

  47. 麦芬薇 said,

really can’t tell that tanghu is already 70!

on one hand me admire these folks for being so active and positive even at their age, but on the other hand me share the same view as u mentioned in the magazine’s interview — don’t wish to live too long… as me have no confidence that me will be a happy and healthy old woman who can be physically, emotionally and financially independent :(

today, it’s again another hilarious but touching episode… about how the old were encouraged to realise their dreams so that there will be no regrets, and especially the part where xiaobailong purposely lost to heigou in their arm-wrestling… this shows that sometimes “losing is winning”;p ..

so far me have enjoyed this sitcom very much… with the thought-evoking plot cleverly packaged in a comedy, it caters to those who see it simply as a hilariously funny comedy (thanks to the marvelous casts), as well as to those who can see beyond the laughters and really appreciate what messages the producers are trying to convey. glad that u’re part of it :)

definitely must ask boku films to submit it for the asian tv awards this year wor! :)
