Home Decor 3 Graphic Freestyle
For the very first time,we were given a topic which includes the word freestyle.Which is good as we can explore all possibilties but yet, scary too as we do not know its boundaries. But with the nod of approval from our contestant in view of our hip hop idea, we went crazy with Hip Hop freestyle!
Before we started with anything, we went over to their place and this is wat we saw
The place looked pretty raw i think..and the job scope seems pretty intense. However, since we have already lost 3 episodes, we thought why not just relax and have fun with wat we were doing and just enjoy the day!
Since we are doing hip hop style, how could we not have a wall graffiti? So we did this rather abstract three faced thingy on the wall and it came out looking like this..
Lee Teng came up with this fabulous idea of having a collage of hip hoppy prints on the wall and meticulously, he created this.
Methinks this is the best idea from him ever and having the ottoman and the lamp and the recycled exhaust pipe all tucked in one corner, it is definitely an alternative cosy corner.. We decided on a grunge looking dining area and boon transformed the plain white walls into this
First win of the year. We were happy with the eventual results of 2 versus 1 as we took a big risk doing something so radically different plus the fact that the judge who voted against us votes against our favour all the time when he is on.What really surprised us was that what we had accomplished within that short span of time!
To us, that ROCKS!

Good Luck every week!
on January 14th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
honestly, i won’t want to live in that house. not that i don’t like your work, but its not my type of living. bryan, mr fuji takes your sides more often than any other judges i’ve noticed.
on January 14th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
yepp, noticed too that the short guy “ivan”, so-called a designer who owns a retail shop somewhere in orchard, has appeared several times since season 1, but never once had he voted for u at all!
although it seems that u guys have added lots of stuff to the walls, overall it still looked less cluttered than it was before. somehow when seen on tv screen it looked more messy than it was in the photos, so it wasn’t as “unlivable” as me had thought initially la
on January 14th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
QIQI u are right thats y Mark group won.we all don like but the judge like it.Bryan u make the right decision even the last judge said yours very rough. How many times we wish to have such a classy n beautiful living room that u create in our home but u didnt win very frustrating .Today very happy to see your group won.HIP HIP HOP RAY.

“the fact that the judge who voted against us votes against our favour all the time when he is on” –> ROFL.
Well Done Bryan!!!
on January 14th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
I’m glad that when you guys have actually relaxed your mind about winning or losing. Personally, it doesn’t really matter right? Not the glory that would make you smiles but really your satisfaction and the process that you’ve really enjoyed. That could make your ideas more open. Being too intense would somehow narrow down your ideas. Therefore do always be calm and open, it would make your artwork more interesting.
Cheers to your winning! (:

Cheerz!!

Hi Bryan,
Hav been a supporter of this show since the first series… & hav been wowed and won over by tat immense and creative talent of yours in interior home decor & design : )
Love the job done by u & ur team on tis week’s theme… refreshingly and daringly different from previous episodes… WELL DONE & CONGRATS!!!
More importantly, nice and entertaining to see the whole lot of u ppl reali enjoying the process & having so much fun ; )
With 2 remaining episodes for tis series, I’d love to see u at ur brilliant best. I agree with one comment in the previous ‘Tropical Living’ post, that u seem to hav focused too much on wall paintings of late and neglected other and 3-D DIY aspects, & hence the ‘surprise’ element is diminishing. If I remembr correctly, one key judging criteria is how well u recycle and transform the existing home owners’ furniture and stuff under the DIY element. Everyone recognizes ur ability in creating MASTERPIECES on the walls, but looking back previous series and episodes, u can also be equally fabulous in coming up with new 3-D DIY stuff, adding fine touches and giving new look to existing stuff. So probably u can re-explore these areas again??
Believe the series will end off with CNY decor theme again?? Stil can’t forget that classic blackish wired doggie and wired lamp u did in series 1′s final episode… looking forward to more 3-D creations from u, on top of your MASTERFUL drawings and paintings : )
Jia You and All The Best To U for Year 2008!!!
Ssnoozzz…
on January 15th, 2008 at 4:39 am
Yo bryan! Check it out! U all were super super high! So funny to see u guys ‘hip-hopping’ around. After this ep, i finally know that the wheels and tyres are not only for vehicles..but also for decor..haha.

Looking at homes of Singaporeans, I am always so shocked. Most of them have zero taste. So blend. So crappy !!!!
How many of these souls can Bryan save?

Yo… Yo….
The design is really cool & daring!!!!!

Hey Bryan,
Congrats for the win! I guess you’ve have a new perspective over interior designing and life. Its good to stay light-hearted..
on January 15th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Woohoo!!
Your team finally won!
This week both teams really outdid yourselves.
If I am part of the judging panel, I would have a headache.
Frankly, Mark’s concept is more “liveable” like one judge said.
I’m speaking from a girl’s point of view. lol
Anyway, congratulations and hope your team will win in the remaining 2 episodes!
加油!

So funky! Very loud design! so match this week theme!
Who say people at our age don know anything about HIP HOP????
YOU WON! hippee! and moreover you so enjoy the design and decor process! Look at Mark…he looks so stressed up….I like your spirit Bryan!!!! Keep it up! UP! I enjoy watching and enjoy the decor process as much as you do in front of the tv. SO RELAX…
on January 15th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Congrats on the win! Your design suits the theme very well! But i think the 2nd judge makes some sense too. Like not very live-able in the long term.
on January 15th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
Yoz Bryan! Congrats!! The graffiti, I muz say, is really funky and nice.. But the whole setting of the house seemed abit ‘luan’.. Hmm.. or perhaps it’s becoz of the TV effects.. hahax.. Nevertheless, jia you for next few episodes!!
on January 15th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Congratulation! You really did a good job as always. How I wish I can DIY like you. Well, everyone has got their own talents, you have got this!

Dear Bryan,
Its so Goooood to see you back to your usual cheeky and DIY self again, welcome back, also I am Glad to see you won, At least you help to WIPED, the SMUG OFF the ever grinning Mark face, also this time round you were quite lucky that the over confident Mark used the Jaywalker or Pedestrain Crossing Sign which I feel resulted in his losing. Anyway Keep It Up, and Be yourself.

congrats… u r so talent. whatever picture u’ve in hand, u’ll be able to draw it out.
loves and hugssss… (“,)
on January 19th, 2008 at 11:42 pm
Hi Bryan
Hip Hop Style is a tough theme.. I think is tough style for most contestants to accept. But you did a wonderful great job and especially I liked the wall graffiti …. it seems like whatever you draw, you drew them whole heartedly which is why you always produced a nice piece of work. You really can be an artist and should pursue painting as your other past time interest!
I just saw on Channel U a commercial ad and Harvey Norman was pleased with this program and commented they will continue and have another season of this program! Hooray!
Hmm… not sure if this is ok a request but… I was wondering even for your own home… maybe modest but with your diy creativity & your great taste of design & color blends should be done modestly well. Perhaps you can share some parts of your home corners for us fans to share and immersed in deep thoughts
Looking forward to hop in and capture more interesting discoveries that you will share with your fans about yourself and happenings that surrounds you!
