Home Decor 3 ” Oriental Vogue”
And now, the end is near, and so we face, the final curtain.
My friends, I”ll say it clear, I’ll state my case, for which I’m certain..
That this, is indeed, the final episode of Home Decor three! For Sixteen weeks we have been cracking our brains, sweated and toiled over fifteen homes and as the chinese New year draws near and we are down to the very last episode, which is oriental chic. For this episode, we were happy to have terence and wive on board with us and it was all fun and pathos as we painted, sawed and drilled for the very last time. The last before looked like this:
what you see is the original state of a five room flat in Toh guan
As the area is rather huge, we decided to do a switch of position the tv as the traffic flow in the living room would be smoother.. and the somewhat plain built in cabinets to be redressed in red vinyl stick on.
we decided on a wall mural, a rather modern chic interpretation of an oriental dragon on the wall..
And also diy our very own screen to separate the dininf room and the living room..
And with the oriental pieces which we got from ” Just Anthony”, which uncle Lim was very kind to coat the two single chair in white, we created our Oriental chic home..
As always, we were very much happy with what we did and even though we lost, dear terence and wife was very gracious about us losing.
With the final scores of both team came to a draw, auspiously 8:8, we came to the end of the rather controversial season finale of Home Decor 3.
On this note, our team would very much like to thank everyone for their participation, support and encouragement throughout the lengthy sixteen weeks.
Walk with me down memory lane..
Goodbye…..

I had just finished watching the last episode of 百家乐3。
Again, I was very disappointed with the judges result.
Frankly, all of our friends felt that the judges (Apart from Hanwei) were very “questionable”, especially the …
In fact, I had gotten very “tired” of watching the show.
Though taste is very subjective but I really doubt the “fairness” of the “competition”!
If you called it a true & honorable “competition” at all.
Just to air these long over-due pent-up frustration of the results.
To me, it’s really not fair to you & your fellow team-mates hardwork, especially an insult to your TRUE talent & taste!
Don’t despair, I believe you have lots of supporters & fans that understand your work.
Peace

bryan
well done keep it up
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
agree with hanwei this time, actually urs is more vogue… the other team just oriental, not very vogue leh…
anyways, congrats that it’s finally over!
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Hi, bryan.
I like your design for the interpretation of the dragon. You had use a good idea of instead using the whole tradition oriental kind of dragon we always seen, to just a kind of black and white modern interpretation of dragon. Cool.
Is ok you and lee teng have lost, cos all of us have to learn from our wrongs.
Have been a regular viewer of the variety show. It gives me ideas while i am doing my own design work. I can see the passion in it.
Nice job!
I love the buddha picture the best that you have drawn! Well Done!
Hope to see another season.
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
nice design for the hse in the last esp. hope to see your guys soon in home decor 4. btw who can tell be where they bought their wood planks and the wood skin?
all the best.
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
Hi Bryan,
I have enjoyed all the amazing transformations that both yours and Mark’s team has displayed. You are very creative and Mark has shown excellent improvements. I must say, this season is one of the most anticipated one, as not only contestants and you all are anxious to know who catches the eyes of the judges, but also us viewers. Every week we’ll be counting the number of wins both of you have collected. You really brought us into the program. Thank you and well done! I hope there will be a season 4!! And I wanna take part as a contestant too
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:53 pm
I really enjoyed the program very much. It’s the one program that I try to make it a point to watch on Channel 8.
You have never failed to amaze me with your creativity and artistic talents. I look forward to Season 4.
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
think me will have withdrawal symptoms next monday onwards.. ;P
anyway, thks for taking away the blues from 16 of our 52 mondays… for us, it’s 16 hrs of entertainment but for u guys, it’s about 32 days of hardwork, right?
should really take a good break to recharge!
on January 28th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
And did i mentioned, I love that screen very much! You manage to give a oriental screen a modern twist, wooh hooh!
on January 28th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
期待再在類似的節目看到你哦,可以在你那偷點 idea!
on January 28th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
this series is over … i watched it with bated breath each time the judge announced the results. sometimes i feel the results were unexpected. though taste is subjective, but I believe you’ve got the real talent – your unique and creative abilities are evident in each episode and without a doubt, you’re a talent … you’re always a winner in my eyes for the Survivor Decor series. take a break and happy lunar new year
…
on January 28th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Hi there,
Thanks for all the hard work…enjoyed watching all your art pieces.
Those who like you always, love you even more. Those who don’t like you, appreciate your talent and start to like you…
Perhaps Mediacorp should come up with more variety shows that can reveal on artisties’ other talent than acting & singing…
on January 28th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Hi Bryan
This program is our favorite and sad that it has come to an end. Though you may have lost but your idea is great. Since this is the last, wonder if we will be seeing you for the next … or are you not taking part?
We like to wish you a Happy & Prosperous New Year 2008.

Hi Bryan!!
Mark has really improved alot!!
Congrats on getting a fair results. Everyone wins in Season 3.
If there’s season 4, everyone must JIAYOU!!!!
The red door & closet reminded me & my Mum of a fire station. lol
This week’s design was nice, though I don’t like the dark color you chose.
Every week I look forward to your artistic drawing.
Very, very impressive.
That IndoChine drawing was really realistic.
Like it’s done by an actual artiste.
No more “Bai Jia Le” for a while now…
Hope to see y’all soon!!

you design ‘s dargon is very move.and wish you are well untill the end.
on January 29th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Hi Bryan,
that’s the spirit man! Love what you do…and not be bothered by the outcome. The most important thing is …enjoy the process. LOL.
I didn’t catch the last episode on Monday night, so I don’t know what Mark Lee did. However, based on the photos which I see on this blog entry of yours, I somehow feel that for this last episode on the theme of “Oriental Vogue”, you can do even better lor.
Yes, the works you did to Terence’s flat are nice, but I am confident you can do even better than that! =)
The modern dragon design drawn on the wall looks good.
Last but not least, just a suggestion: kindly don’t take down the photos from your blog, because I think there are people out there who may want to draw inspirations from the works you’ve done on “Home Decor Survivor 3″, from time to time. And that includes me lor.
Ok? Hahaha.
Hopefully there is a Season 4. Keke.
<摆家乐3>终于拍摄完毕,想必你现在手头上的工作量少了,for the time being每天不用工作那么"辛苦"了是吗?
If there’s a break for you. good. Have your well-deserved break.
Take care. ^_^
on January 29th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Hi Bryan, forgive me…I purposely missed the last epid, because I don’t want to say …goodbye….
Have you thought of moving into movies industry???? You look good on big screen too, which not many artises are. Not local movies please! Fann is really wasted in talents to film in Jack’s films and always looks so aweful in image ….those kind of producings are for people like Mark. Looking forward to that BIG day!
on January 29th, 2008 at 4:53 pm

Watched the last part of the show yesterday… Noticed that Judge Mr XXX was there, think that is why you did not win….
Never mind, my princess niece and I voted for you!
You are the best!
on January 30th, 2008 at 1:18 am
been an ardent follower, and love love love the show. you’ve been consistently good and steady… in fact, i’m surprised with your versatility and creativity. of course, mark has shown vast, vast improvements, and has become a contender of more substance.
but like some of the other viewers, i too questioned the eventual verdict in some of the epis. i can understand the entertainment value side of things and the need to juggle the two teams’ emo and all that, but… really, is it fair to the contestants? shrugs.
just wanted you to know… in my mind, you’re the winner.
love you lots
‘add oil add oil!’
on January 30th, 2008 at 1:21 am
sorry… wanted to add on something.
i’ve always felt that whilst mark’s work has elements of surprise and sparks here and there, your work is always more put-together. the entire scheme of things is more complete and well-thought-out. the flow is better and tighter and i just adore your interpretation of each week’s theme.
well, tastes and such things are very subjective. but i do know i definitely like your take on things.
you used to be able to brighten up my mondays a little. thank you much much.
on January 30th, 2008 at 1:35 am
urs is wayyy cooler and nicer than mark’s design. u always have new ideas sprouting out but mark is perpetually recycling his.
the fact that mark lee can win as many times as u guys is reeeally questionable. were the judges put there for show? just for good tv?
mark lee can never hold a candle to u in design and humour. honestly, he tries too hard.
oh well, hopefully ur grp makes a comeback in the next season! if there IS another season. =D
God bless!

It’s your big day! Happy Birthday to you Bryan!! Hope you had a fun and memorable celebration.
For this week, unfortunately Mark Lee has the more oriental look. Your design is great too except a little more modern oriental. Anyway I still let the design and combination.
Sad that Home Decor Survivor 3 ends. But I know Harvey Norman is going to come up with Home Decor Survivor 4…. hopefully sooner then soon. But we saw you and Mark give the certs to the appretice, I hope you are not telling us that even there is a next Home Decor Survivor 4, you both are going to pass to the new guys??? Oh noooooooooooooo……..
By the way I am dropping a note on tonight’s Folks Jump over the Wall, it is so so so funnyyyyyyyyy…. so humourous…. the way this show is done…. kinda of intrigue you with different humour each time. Great great… just excellent.
on January 31st, 2008 at 12:17 am
Now I really get to realize. It doesn’t mean when you’re good in something (art) you will have to go that line. You could still portray your talented area even when you’re working as something else (host). I’m glad that at times, opportunities are given in life that allows you to do something you’ve always wanted even though you might not be able to have it. Cherish them as not everybody or anyone gets the chance…
on January 31st, 2008 at 12:41 am
Hey Bryan
How I loved that u guys painted the whole wall of cabinets in the last house HIGH GLOSS RED!
Reminds me of how i used to like looking at the old medicinal chests in TCM halls..but yours is the VOGUE kind
Though it’s a draw for u this season,
congrats to u for having a signature style — portraits/wall art.
Hope there’ll be more chances for u to showcase your creativity in Home Decor 4!
U havent gone into wood staining and all that yet!!
Have a good CNY

hola Bryan, this is my 1st time looking at your blog… i used to have the image of you as unapproachable and sometimes sacarastic, after reading your blog.. i apologised, i can feel… you are very nice… very very nice.. and real.. keep that going… !
1 of your blog “trapped”, really relate to me closely.. i am a person who love to show ppls my happy front and seldom show my sad within.. because i realised some ppls will withdraw when they know you are sad.. simplify version is they only want to be influence by your happiness, sadness no thanks! Sometimes i feel it is too tiring to keep keeping a happy front.. i need time to be sad too.. i have feelings/ emotions too..
put the sadness aside,
i love your home decor show with mark… i want to use your design as reference to deco my home that is ready in 2yrs time.. i want to tell you, your drawings are fantastic, i do not think i can do it…

Taste is subjective, but for the last episode, all four groups of my family and friends agreed that Bryan did a better job. I was glad that Hanwei was one of the judges that episode as it meant ‘more chances’ of fairness for the competition. Because sometimes the judges that were on the show kinda make me feel that they don’t wanna vote for Bryan even though he did a better job. Maybe I am over-sensitive… but, nevertheless, Bryan, you did an excellent job.. You’re always the winner in our hearts!
And not to forget, Lee Teng’s done a good job on the show too. Keep it up!

At last, looking forward for your new series of Hoe decor Show.

Hi Bryan,
Can’t seem to find anything on Home Decor Survivor 2.. There was one episode where the contestant’s living room was small and narrow but you managed to make it look real great! We really like the theme for that episode but can’t find any photos for that series. It was a modern-look theme, with dark brown furniture, white or light-coloured walls and mirrors on the wall. I think in that episode the mirror fell off and broke coz it was not held for long enuff for the glue to dry. Not sure if u can recall the theme?
