HoMe DeCoR FiNaLe: AlTeRnAtIvE DeCoR另类家居
And Now The End Is Here!
After a grueling eleven weeks we are now into the last installment of Home Decor 4.
To wrap up this season, we were thrown the topic of Alternative lifestyle.
Not an easy topic though..because, anything goes…My interpretation of this topic would be a decor that is not mainstream and does not adhere to conventional styling..It has to reflect the personal taste of the owner, their likes and their needs..and it should all gel together and becomes their home.
For this last epi, we were assigned this loving family where much love is found in their four room flat…the happy couple jusssst got married and we so hoped to give them a lovely wedding present::)
We spoke..listened…and understood that they wanted a brand new look to their place..liked black, white and grey..loved mosaics…loved their dog….loved minimalism..and so..we started our overhauling:)

Actually, i found their place to be quite retro inspired..

first and foremost, since the ceiling already has checks, we decided to amp it up and do a chessboard effect on the ceiling, which we felt was rather “alternative”..alot of work on this and kudos to my two fantabulous helper and the wonderful family…Next on the checklist, we decided to mosaic the shoe cabinet that u see on the right hand side of the above pic and transformed it into a one and only mosaic shoe cabinet u see below:)

Since they love their doggy sooo much, we decided to have its portrait to be done on the wall..not painted..but with mosaic!

I wanted an alternatively styled lamp to shine on them while they were eating..and so..we d.i.m this one of a kind cutlery chandelier:)

The transformation went on and on…..

Before After
Before after
But victory was not ours…
Nevertheless, i felt truly privilleged to have worked with this family because, i am touched but the bond they had..the warmth of a complete family.
This has been the most challenging season ever..because for each and every episode, my team and i push ourselves to create something that is asthetically pleasing as well as challenging ourselves to d.i.m stuffs that we had never done before..and here’s a recap:)

So here’s to everyone who played a part in this season of HoMe DeCoR..
May All Be Well and May All
Live Happily Ever After….

Dear Bryan,
It’s indeed creative of u to use forks & spoon as lamp, i guess no one would have thought it that way, i love the mosiac creations of the dog portrait although the judges den agree, haha maybe to sum it up not to make mark lee so ” Lou Qi” so give him win once more, anyway it’s 8-4. Sad to say thats the end le, hope to see more variety shows from u “)

Bryan,
Your design & DIY is very nice & creative. Getting keys for my new house soon. I wonder if you do freelance in designing for people. Believe if you do your charges should be very expensive.

Hello Bryan!
I love the mosiac doggie! I love ur designs! Its a pity that I was OT-ing in office resulting me in missing the last episode. Can u let me know where did u get the mosiac and how do u tink onto the wall and cardboard? Thought of DIY-ing myself.

Praise upon yourself and the team for the effort.
This journey has empowered you the ability to create, freedom to choose, friends to make,
families to warmth.
As the many eyes who watches you through the TV set, creativity has reach a new level.
It has open many doors for you, many ideas for us.
Thank you.(and your team)

It was a great job presented by you and your group of people…
but the result was like upside down…
we were having our company dinner and all the people at my table voted you to be the winner but ended up to be the othe group winning…
But still you are the best creative designer in this show…

If possible, I will definitely see in front of the TV every tuesday to catch this variety show with my family.. and it’s been our common topic all along. And after each episode, we will always be inspired to redecorate our house, hee! Thanks for the joy that Mark and you have brought to us and really hope that future series (5,6,7,8,9,10,11….etc!) will be planned! Haha. Hi Bryan,
Overall I still like your design in all of the ep. Like you mention the lamp that you made from the log you spent time and effort to find a log under rain and shine, as audience we can really see that you put into lots of effort in every single DIY that you made.
You mention in the little tips of clearing the Plasma TV screen may I know where can I buy the Alcohol?

Hi Bryan
Any chance of me getting my hands on your recipe for the claypot stew you’ve made on 三菜一汤? My mum and I were drooling over it last night while we were watching the show. We could almost taste the beautiful combination of the salted fish and pork in our mouths..
Many thanks in advance Bryan!

Bryan
Watch the 3 dish+1 soup. The craypot dish looks delicious. I think alot of your fans would like to try to cook this dish. Can you pls put the receipe in this web ?
Watch all the 3 dish+1 soup, notice you are the only person who hold the frying pan with a cloth. It shows that you really know how to cook. You give very good explanations and reasons for how, why and when to add in the ingredients. Hope Mediacorp will start a cooking show with you as the host.

Currently I’m caught up in a situations and its more like a personnel problem and I’m seriously trying to forget things which had took place in the past and im really struggling in my life to get over things. I guess it would really assist me for getting over many things which happen to m in my life… I really hope that you would get back to me and therefore may your advice make wonders to my life again… Sad man.
