Sri Lanka Revisited
I remembered vividly , just a couple of days after Boxing Day year 2004, i was part of a medical volunteer team to lend a helping hand to those in need after the tsunami hit Sri Lanka..
Years later, i am back there, doing a travel segment of New Citybeat…Interestingly, the camerman who went on this trip was the same one that went along with me yrs ago..speaking of coincidences:) i guess..we were in a way, rewarded for our work years ago..and given the chance to see the beauty of Sri lanka in its natural form…
As this was a really short trip, we covered only GAlle and Columbo and here are some pics before u watch it on the tele:)

Arriving at the heart of the city of colombo, kym and i were treated to a spectacle of interesting buildings that were left behind by the Dutch and the English..It is a city bustling with life with a tinge of nostalgia..

We took the coastal drive and arrived in Galle, where we stayed in this beautiful hotel Jetwing Lighthouse which has simply breathtaking views..Interestingly, on my last mission here, they held a thank you tea reception at this very hotel for us and i remembered telling myself that one day, i will come back and stay here and amazingly..here i am:)

The waters , the Indian Ocean,at this part is not for swimming..but, we couldn’t resist the idea of a shot..can we?

Nestled at a corner of the hotel is their spa..and we definitely have to showcase massage unique to this region..

Most of the time, when i have a massage, it would be hands that are kneading the knots at my shoulders or some other aching parts of my body but, this time round..hmm…the masseur stepped all over…

One of the highlights of Galle would be the Dutch fort, a UNESCO heritage site that showcases the early settlements…

Our team went on to another fishing village Negombo, where due to the rain that went on for that week, there are no fresh catch for us to see but,
we get to see how the salted fishes are made..

Its a really short trip and we were commuting long hrs each day..i really had a superb time as the team were really nice
and it is a real pleasure to go on a trip with kym..
its been many yrs since we last filmed together in Hong kong..which would be during the original City beat era..
how time flies…but somehow, amist all the changes that is on going ,
its heartening to know that some of us…
remains the same.

It’s really nice to see that you’ve enjoyed your trip at Sri Lanka with Kym.
And the coincidences you mentioned about visiting Sri Lanka the previous time and this time, it’s sweet.
3 more days to the debut of New City Beat!

Hi Bryan,
This is my visit to your blog. I have been a fan of yours even before the launch of Channel U. It is just that I told myself to set aside some time tonight to read up more about you after your entertaining singing on TV few hours ago with your good pals – Kym and Yifong. Not knowing where to start, I google “Bryan Wong” and this is the first link it appears.
I must say I am indeed impressed that you took the time and effort to share with your fans the picutres and descriptions from your travels. Though I often watch and hear you speak on TV, I did not know that you are one who is quite strong in your English vocabulary!
The more I am touched by your sincerity in spending time and attention to reply most of your fans’ posts. This has shown me the other side of yours, besides the usual comical you appearing on TV. Of course, there is also the quieter and sentimental side of you.
When I saw the advertisement about the debut of New City Beat by Kym, Yifong and you, I wondered to myself happily recalling the last time the 3 of you worked together to host a variety programme. It seems so long and I am glad that you 3 good pals can work together again to bring greater joy and laughter to the audience.
As I can see that you have posts since year 2007, it will take me a while to read them. I only managed to read past 1 year tonight. Appreciate the wonderful pictures you share with everyone here. The more I like to read more of your thoughts / happenings, so that we can pray with you and walk the journey together with you as a group! =)
Very glad that you are often awarded during the Stars Awards and you deserved them for all the hard work you put in with your dedication in your career.
All the best and may you be blessed in every single moment of your life. I will drop you a note once I finish reading your posts till year 2007. I admire and respect you for giving sound advice to those in need. Over the years you have indeed matured but not aged! =)
**I’m sorry that I do not twitter and that I do not have a facebook account. Do add me in your MSN list (if you have one) or I can continue to read your posts here.
Cheers!
