THE BIG REVEAL!
All right, the waiting game is getting a wee bit too long and i am finally hooked up with the necessary tools.. For those who guessed correctly, do make a mark on your march calender and send me your details ya? Cheers!
This is actually very much the hair do that i have wanted but i’d never had the patience nor the chance to do so..Thus, having a long holiday holiday and at the right place seemed to be the perfect time to fulfill a lifelong dream…
Walking along the streets of bangkok , hong kong and maccau was a blast when i bumped into fellow singaporeans who had quite a difficult time deciding if i am who i am and for a moment, it felt really good to be just another ordinary folk walking on the street, without much ppl knowing who you are…
But as i am typing this, i ahve you know that my hair now is coated with a thick application of shampoo as i have self removed the extensions last night ..It was an awful affair! you see, the joints are connected with hot glue and to remove it, i used a hot rod to melt the glue and off came the extensions but, lots of the glue remained on my hair! Thus, after 3 solid hours of shampoo, olive oil, cutex blah blah blah, my haed felt slightly better but still tangled at many many places. So, one word of advise to all, go for the real stuff, short cuts are cool for the moment but the aftermath , well, you’ll pay.BIG TIME!!!!!!
In my earlier entries, i ended with ” sometimes think of me”..reason being i am coming to the end of term of my contract and was actually at a crossroad, not deciding what direction i should b heading. One part of me is set on leaving the show biz..the other wanting to hang on..Why would i want to leave, some may wonder, as i very much pondered over this as well..maybe just to have control over my life, i think…Hanging on? rather cool as well ..there are still some areas of show biz that i have never ventured into and most importantly, do i want to have a major change to my life at this age? This, my dear friend..is what i call mid life crisis ..
Lets leave it as that.
Sometimes…think of me.

please don’t leave, but I can understand that when you come to a T in the road, you can only take one road… Either way, I will always remember you. In fact I was just watching my first Drama with you in it, and I loved your character #7… In there you were the scholar who gave advice and listened to people, just as you are now… Remember the best advice are the ones you give others, follow them yourself and see where it will lead you…There will be a time when you will finally say, “I am tired…” and finish it all, and retire to a simpler and quiet life… I can’t wait till I reach that point in life too…But try not look back, else you may feel regrets, just cherish them…for me, that’s a different story, as I can barely follow anyone else’s advice let alone my own…I know I am being contradictive, but…Enjoy your moment, and what ever you choose, I am sure it will be a good one, and trust me with all your friends, I am sure you will be remembered…Always
P.S. The Smile Looks GREAT on you… and LOVE the hair!!!
on March 21st, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Oh I see.
I think I’ve guessed wrongly. lol. Too bad.
I don’t think I would dare do hair extension. haha.
Mid-life crisis??!!
Ya, why this thought of leaving showbiz? You wanna follow the footsteps of ex-MediaCorp actress Zeng Huifen..at peak height of career..
Sharon Au, one of the TV hosts, is very unlikely to come back hosting after her overseas studies.. You also wanna go?
Sigh..talent drain…
You’ve come to a point where you are now one of the most sought-after television hosts in Singapore today. I believe the company would sure offer you some good terms for renewing your contract? =P
I understand that from the day when you entered MediaCorp (in former TCS days)…then to SPH Mediaworks..then now to MediaCorp..you have already “devoted a portion of your life to hosting/acting”…..
Whatever decision you make, I respect that.
But I hope you bear this in mind:
我们大家 (including myself) 喜欢你。。
喜欢你的笑声。。。喜欢你的主持方式。。。喜欢你的待人处世态度。。。喜欢你的才情。。一切一切。。如果你决定离开,不晓得有多少人会为你"伤心落泪。。晚上失眠"。
Haha.
Yes, it would be painful for some of us to see you go. =p
You are one of those artistes among MediaCorp who has a unique personality.
on March 21st, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Hey you look gorgeous with this new hair look!!! I always says how come that Bryan Wong don’t change his hairstyle, he will look very different maybe with not so neat look but you will have more fans flocking towards you. My friend, I think you shld have a plan to keep your hair longer and yes have this look!! I am not sure if you mentioned removing the glue yourself, meaning you are back to your usual hair.
I suggest you keep your hair longer and then go for a baby perm, so you will get used to it instead of the normal perm, I don’t think you will get use to it. I tried all kinds of perm incl. ceremic perm but always end up straightening them in less then a day, is a price to pay!!! I prefer my soft straight hair but I colored them often. And the trick to coloring hair is actually it helps indirectly to give a body to your hair, so even if you don’t perm, you hair won’t be as flat looking. Most importantly is sometimes when you tired, is always good to constantly change your hair look, to freshen & give you life , so we don’t get to the low mood. When ppl are having long, we change to short and when they are short, you changed to long. Why follow the trend, one can see so many beautiful gals having rebonding straight long hair that… well it gets boring… looking at all the gals on the streets… pretty though… but nothing special… and they all looks similar like robots.
Anyway, i think hair is very important to a person’s image. Is not just the smooth skin on your face or a good makeup. If your hair don’t brings up you, no matter how much cosmetic we used, it just don’t look good. If you got the right hair for yourself, even if you are not pretty, it will shine and bring the gorgeous image of you and builts once confident.
So much talk.. i am not the winner and I forgot you shared a saloon with Quan, so who shld be giving you professional advice… hahhaha
Come on ….. have a new look soon! I am looking forward to it.
PS: BTW can u help me trace Fione Xie blog? Does she has a blog in the first place?
on March 21st, 2008 at 3:14 pm
oh so its HAIR EXTENSION!
takes time getting used to a “brand new bryan”
refreshing change
with regards to what you said…i think sometimes, we already have the answer deep down but we just need some reassurance. maybe you should stay cos this is the place where you feel most comfortable with, and i’m sure you really like what you’re doing. working in the media industry brings new challenges everyday… and you know you’ll never get bored. on the other hand, if you do have another dream in your mind, one that you’ve always wanted to fulfill but never had the chance to… maybe this is your opportunity.
ok i know i’m not exactly helping much but hope that helps. most importantly, follow your heart and i hope you make the right decision!
whatever it is, i’m sure you’ve already made your mark not just in showbiz but touched the hearts of many and for one, you’ve definitely left your imprints behind.
on March 21st, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I was actually thinking of you at the salon, because we can spend hours there (like I spent 6+ hours rebonding my hair at one time)!
But then, I can’t really picture you having extensions! xD
No offense, you look like a 浪子 or a playboy with that ‘do. lol
But you don’t look terrible.
After spending years doing something, I guess it’s time for a change?
But don’t leave totally lah.
Maybe a part-time contract? Do think carefully.
It’s like being friends with someone you love for so many years.
And then he/she turns out to be someone totally different from the person you once know.
It all depends on how you feel; think.
As long as you’re happy, heck what others think.
Take Care~

Ooo.. I guess I am not that creative afterall. With your hair extension, you really looked like an artist. Someone who draws, paints, plays guitar at gigs. Haha.. Oh well, I think maybe you do that in your real life too.
I believed everyone has a path for him/herself. Don’t perceive your career path to be too fixed up cos in our eyes, you’re the most talented, versatile person that we see on tv. With your adaptability and the knowledge stored in ya witty brain, you’ll work just fine elsewhere.
Mid-life crisis definitely doesn’t quite suit our bryan. But rest assure, whichever path you choose, we will support your decision. As I believe, if you really has another passion to chase, the time is now, when you’re still driven, with lots of dreams and hopes in life to challenge the uncertainties coming charging over. Sometimes, we just like to have different form of satisfactions in life to tell us that we exist, not for others, but for ourselves, that we have achieve another stage of our life.
As much as I want to see you on tv more often than not, I wish you well in your career endeavor. Chase your dreams~
Cheers,
Peiying
P.S. Maybe you can be like Wang Tian Cai? Act in one drama a year and still do other things he likes in his free time? Or be like an adjunct professor, come back and host once in a while, and transfer your hosting skills to your junior peers. =)

This hairdo is different from your style.. more mature .. hahaha. hmmmoo.. I think you have to brainstorm your career .. whether to move on or to stay. What are the consequences you need to face as you are once a actor. You know what I mean right. (^^.) The decision is on you. Jia you … Jia you… Plus I like to read your blog.. and can upload more of your picture. Thanks.

Yoz bu lai en’
HAir extension !!!, Quite a ?? undescribable look, still like ur boyish short hair looks that u hav as wat u are… but quite interesting.. haha.. :p
Like wat u hav told me b4 last 2 years, u hav ur dreams & goals to be realise, mayb is time to pursue them if MCS is nt reali offering that gd contract to u… but will reali miss ur laughter & everything if u r nt in this industry… Commiting to ppl is a noble thing but committing to urself is smthg that only u urself knows, wat is ur dreams, how u’re going to realise & when u’re goin to fufil….
On the selfish side of us, we wish u to stay on to bring us more surprises & laughter but on the other hand, we will still respect whatever decision u make…
All the best to you & take care >>>>>>

i think when someone is at a crossroad and lost, i think the best thing to do is really ponder hard and make the right choice and never regret it as its something you want in life.. Ohhh… Wow~ Hahaha… Never thought that you would have gone to get your hair done. It does look good on you though. I never really imagined you with long hair. Haha. =)
Aww… You really want to leave showbiz? Well… Frankly, I wish you wouldn’t. You’re definitely my favourite Mediacorp artiste, and its a shame to see such talent go. You’re a brilliant host, in terms of personality and wittiness. And its just really nice to watch you. But despite all that, I will definitely respect your decision. It is your decision after all, and you choose the path you want to walk down next. I can assure you though that no matter what decision you make, I will remember you. I will remember you as that guy who brought laughter and joy into my life.
Wish you all the best.
And hope you make the decision you wouldn’t regret. =)
Take care.

I guess its perfectly normal for everyone to encounter the “soul searching” period a few times in their life. Asking yourself if you have done enough, whether these achievements are what you yearn for.
Whatever decisions you’ll make, hope that it will be purposeful enough!
God Bless!
p.s: we love your smile and natural giggles! thats what makes u different from the rest!
*smiles*

Just a thought, ever had a job where you were happy and comfortable at? And fear that if this position ever disappeared, what would you do? How would you find a suitable and equal position. Will you be able to work with new people like you do with your current co workers? Afraid that if you move, there may be challenges and difficulties that you don’t want to face, in fear of failing or not achieving what is expected? I fear that everyday, and as my position is coming to a close, I fear the future and what it entails me. I know I can and probably be suitable for a different position, and more than likely qualify for a new one…but fear of the unknown is what have kept me at my position for a long time. Even though I have eventually gained experience in what i am doing now, I feel that I am stuck in a rut. I dont’ mind because I am comfortable, but when the day comes for change, will I be ready? Dont’ be like me, enjoy what is out there for you. You have many talents, and very likable person. I know in what ever you choose, you will be good at it, and it will help you get to the next phase of your life. As far as a midlife crisis, I dont’ think so. I think you are just at a cross road, and you just got to pick your path…We come to cross roads all the time, and some choose to stay in the middle, or behind and not choose a road, but for you I think what ever you choose, it will be right for you. Choose your path, what ever it may be. Be happy at it, smile everyday…and think at how wonderful it is at that moment that you have taken it. I hope this helps a little…I should follow my own advice, but again, fear always overwhelms me…am I good enough for something new. Changes and challenges, and the future is scary, but I guess it is worth the effort to take a step forward…Enjoy all your future endeavors, and may you have the very best of everything you dream for…

Nice hairstyle!
I can understand your dilemma when your contract is coming to an end. It is a tough decision as whether or not you want to renew it. Everyone does come across this sort of situation where you are in a cross-junction and wondering which path you should be pursuing.
Normally I tend to trust my heart, that feeling in you will guide you to the right path. Think deeply and you will find your answer.
If you are leaving showbiz, all your fans including my family & I shall miss you.
Take care and be blessed!
Cheers!

hey bryan~
blame me for being forthright but no offense, this hairstyle just doesnt suit u very much… X)
on March 23rd, 2008 at 10:12 pm
Hi Bryan,
Wow… wow… this game is pretty fun. That’s quite a big different when you got the hair extension. A very ROCK look. Looks great on you. Try keeping it long.
Actually, me expected your contract coming to an end soon. Not quite sure what words I can put into (not very good in words). I know that when you need to put down certain things which you have been doing it for so many years is not easy.
Whatever you do, pursue the things you dream of. When you look back, you won’t say, “I should do it in the first place”.
If you intend to stay on in the showbiz, all of us benefit. But if you choose to leave, I reckon we are also happy for you too (I’m really happy for you). I believe you have more other strengths which we aren’t able to see from TV.
At this point, I have mixed feelings. A part of me, I don’t wish to see you leave the showbiz. But another part of me, it’s better to make full use of your strength in good use in other areas.
PURSUE WHAT YOUR HEART TELLS YOU. When you have decided what your heart tells you, move on and don’t look back.
Always… Will think you.
Cheers,
Gin

I like the way you style the living rooms!
God bless.
